Notes:
Bierkreek and Rosenschule Ruf describe the Story of this rose as follows: The story goes that Georg Ruf wanted to make jam, for which he took the largest of the largest hips he could find. Afterwards he threw the waste of his jam-making out of the kitchen window and the next season a new rose grew under his window with enormous tomato shaped hips. Rosebschule Ruf had actually discarded this seedling and presented it to Hans van Hage of Bierkreek nursery. Hans realized the extraordinary hips and named the plant after Georg Ruf. Georg Ruf is possibly a seedling of 'Roseraie de l'Haÿ'.
