Bred by François Fontaine (père) (France, before 1862).
Introduced in France by Eugène Verdier fils aîne in 1862 as 'La Tour de Crouy'.
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'La Tour de Crouy'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Blush, light pink outer petals, ages to lighter .  Very large, full (26-40 petals), globular bloom form.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  
Growing:
Hardy.  Blooms tend to ball in wet weather.
