Bred by George Mander (Canada, 1985).

Floribunda.  

Pink blend, white center.  None / no fragrance.  33 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Tall, upright.  Glossy, medium green foliage.  

Height: 6' (185cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).

USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower, garden or hedge.  Very hardy.  can be grown as a shrub.  can be trained as a climber.  Disease susceptibility: very mildew resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  

‘Shades of Pink’ produces huge sprays with an average of 40 to 60 blooms each in the first flush. The “Record Number’ of blooms per spray on a 3 to 4 year old plant was 120 blooms from a large basal cane. Second flush produces smaller sprays. It is very mildew resistant, but will get blackspot if not sprayed at least once a month.
The “shades of pink” varies from plant to plant, and even on the same plant from one year to the next. Sometimes the blooms open pale pink and may go darker with sunshine. Other times it opens dark pink and becomes pale pink to cream colour. It all depends on the weather.
