Breeder's notes:
This was a spontaneous cross. Originally, I was going to pollinate Gertrude's pollen on Queen Elizabeth. However, the flowers were opened, but I saw Perfume Perfection just ready to be pollinated. Some hybrizer say that Gertrude isn't a worth while rose to breed because they produce weak seedlings. I have seen why they have said this because my seedlings, which are two, are very weak. (One I donated to a woman in Arizona, but she said that it died a few years ago. 05/22/2011) However, they survived on their own and I believe that if a rose wants to survive... it will. I hope to get any kind of flower, but with a STRONG perfume and rebloom. If it lives, I will post picture of the flower. Right now, the foilage look highly similar to Gertrude's leaves.
05/22/2011. Wow... This rose's perfume is STRONG. The flowers have very poor substance, but I believe that's why they're so strong. The flowers range... some came out looking like the old hybrid teas... some came out quartered. I hope to release this rose one day because it is healthy. It may lack a little vigor, and it may not bloom all the time. But this rose is definitely a good sniffing rose.
