Origin:

Bred by Louis Lévêque fils (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Duc de Rohan'.

Class:

Hybrid Perpetual.

Bloom:

Red, vermilion shading. Average diameter 4.5". Very large, very double, in small clusters, globular bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer.

Patents:

Parentage:

seedling of Général Jacqueminot (hybrid perpetual, Roussel 1853)
