Origin:
Bred by Jean Laffay (France, 1839).
Introduced in Australia by John Baptist in 1861 as 'Lady Fordwich'.
Class:
Hybrid China, Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, dark purple shading, ages to light pink .  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  
Habit:
5 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
Dedicated to Lady Anne Florence Robinson (de Grey from 1833 onwards) (June 8, 1806 London - July 25, 1880 London), who in 1833 married George Augustus Frederick Cowper (June 26, 1806 - April 15, 1856), Viscount Fordwich (until 1837, then 6th Earl Cowper), British politician. Upon the death of her husband she became Baroness Lucas of Crudwell.
