Registration name: Henry Nevard (Hybrid Perpetual, Cant, 1924)

Bred by Frank Cant (1857-1928) (United Kingdom, 1924).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1925 as 'Henry Nevard'.

Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Tea.  

Carmine-red - scarlet.  Strong fragrance.  30 petals.  Average diameter 5".  Large, very double, borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped, old-fashioned bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, dense, upright.  Large, matte, dark green foliage.  

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  

USDA zone 5b through 9b.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to Mildew.  Prune after flowering is finished.  Prune lightly or not at all.
