Discovered by Unknown (before 1847). Introduced in France by Jean Cherpin in 1853 as 'Marguerite Lecureux-Fraipont'.
Bloom:
Carmine-red, white stripes. Strong fragrance. Large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

J. Beaujean reports the correct name for this rose is 'Marguerite Lecureux-Fraipont', according to Belgique Horticole 3, (1853), pp. 69-70. Anne Marguerite Fraipont (baptized December 27, 1816 Liège - July 29, 1888), married on October 22, 1840 Jean Lecureux (baptized June 21, 1806 Arcis-sur-Aube - October 18, 1868 Liège), florist in Liège, Belgium.
