Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, 1978).
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Moderate fragrance.  46 petals.  Average diameter 3.25".  Medium, very full (41+ petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  Glossy foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
The parentage of this rose is shown as Seedling x Kardinal. Two different roses named KARDINAL pre-date BIMBORO. A third, KARDINAL 85, follows it. The 1967 Kordes KARDINAL seems the most likely parent, but that is only an educated guess.
