Notes:
Actor Edmund Kean was born in London 4 November 1787. He died in Richmond, Surrey, 15 May 1833.
The roses 'Kean' and Shakespeare' were seen as synonyms in English language horticultural literature. They were, however, distinct roses, and probably mixed up later in commerce.
According to an 1850 reference, the breeder of 'Kean' is Miellez - see.
