Origin:
Bred by Hippolyte Jamain (France, 1868).
Introduced in Australia by Edwin Smith, Clifton Nursery in 1885 as 'Dupuy Jamain'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Cherry-red.  Strong fragrance.  30 petals.  Large, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Dupuy Jamain died 9 May 1888 at the age of 72. He was the founder of one of the oldest horticultural establishments in Paris, and was above all distinguished in arboriculture, in which he stood in the first rank.
