Brown Sugar rose photo
Rose photo courtesy of Usami
This is a side by side of an original photo I took with my not-very-competent phone camera and my very rudimentary edit of it to be more correct to how the colours look in person and improve detail. You can see a little of the foliage, which is typically handsomely dark and ever so slightly blueish. When tender growth, leaves is a bronze-y pear green shade. The original plant in this picture, which was taken like the previous ones in 2023, has died. But it lasted unto this year and put good growth in the mentime. Remained healthy and vigorous all throughout until it died to some form of canker or die back that is sadly very prevalent in my garden as of now... I have a replacement already. I also found that this variety is easy to root, but could not confirm the performance on its own roots. The youngling died before it developed much from the scorching summer heat.
