Bloom:
Dark red. Strong, old rose fragrance. 35 petals. Average diameter 5.5". Very large, full (26-40 petals), exhibition, high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long buds.
Habit:
Upright. Large, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: 35" to 4' (90 to 120cm). Width: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7a and warmer. Can be used for cut flower. Benefits from winter protection in colder climates. Disease susceptibility: susceptible to disease, susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to Mildew. Protect tender new spring growth from hard freezes that may cause canker, die-back and death of the plant. . Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Requires good cultivation if it is to perform its best.
