We started our garden (mainly roses) in 1998. At one time we had over 100 different roses but over the passing years have weaned it down to 75 which is more manageable for Mary Ellen. We are now not using any insecticides or herbicides and raising own-root roses. We also have put in daylily borders and various perrenials but still have roses as the main theme. Mary Ellen still loves her hybrid teas but started an Old Garden Roses plot this year and she is excited to see these grow and bloom in 2009. This year I expanded our pond and am anxious to see how much bigger the gold fish grow. We have had one gold fish for 9 years! To see pictures of our garden you may visit our website at: www.56elleneliotgardenspot.spaces.live.com. Please feel free to leave comments as we enjoy hearing and learning about other gardens.
