Prindle Mountain Overlook & Flower Farm
Washington, United States
Hello, I am Kim, owner of construction company. For over 30 years my husband and I have been leaders specializing in environmental work, reclamation, wildlife habitat, wetlands development, watershed restoration, in-stream fish enhancements, vegetation management, planting, soil preparation, naturalized landscaping and owners of native plant nursery. Our Mission: The legacy that we leave is that you will never know we were there. 2021, looking to retire after heartbreaks and turmoil of 2020. Still doing a few small jobs, my husband and I took 2 dams out for commercial nursery Bailey Nursery! We change order work resulted in a trade and doing native plants, I wanted something different to heal my soul! So, I dug deep in and remembered hiding from my brothers under grandmas rose bush and there was a basket of kittens. That memory sparked a semi-truck load of Bailey Nursery roses. I started researching rose gardens around the world. So, I built myself a labyrinth in 2 weeks and planted over 350 roses myself. It is a healing path, a dedication garden to all of the wonderful inspirational people along my path. I have been documenting my garden since 1992 and my stepfather was former Oregon Native Plant Society president who also owned a nursery. He inspired me to teach people about restoration work and native plants. I started working with him to transform the garden into a Botanic Garden of research in the Gorge, healing with plants and teaching.
Prindle Mountain Overlook and Flower Farm has cliffs on 3 sides in the Columbia River Gorge with more than 400 roses and gardens of an eclectic nature and is on a journey to become registered botanical garden in the near future. My stepfather has just passed this winter 2023, therefore I am filling my days with research and references.
