Arvid`s garden Lista south western coast of Norway July 2008. This is one of my top favourite roses rangeing second only to "New Dawn". It is said to reach an height of around 1 meter. It has reached close to 1,75 in my garden and I know it is time to cut it back a bit.It has got everything I want in a rose plant. A bushy upright and lush growth performing in flushes throughout the season. And a wonderful scent - one of the strongest found in any rose. Besides the plant is as good as desease free in my garden. What more can you want? If you want to plant old/historical roses in your garden, start with this one.

Arvid`s garden Lista southwestern coast of Norway. July 2008. This is one of my favourite roses. As it seems to be less susceptible to blackspot than its origin Zephirine Drouhin, it is in my opinion a much better choice. People who pass it in my garden usually stop to imbibe the wonderful fragrance of this rose..

Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway, Early July 2009. This rose was one of the very first to find its way to my garden back in 1987. I was very facinated by it then and it is still one of my favourite roses. Although the flushes are not overly profuse, the flowers in themselves are wonderful. Large, densly filled with beautiful colours and a wonderful scent. Even David Austin discovered the qualities and potential of this rose in as much as he is said to have used it to breed many of his roses known as Austin Roses or English Roses. We have a saying in Norway that "Some like the mother and some like the daughter,so they`ll both get married." Personally I`ve got eyes for the mother.

Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway, July 2009. This climber has become a favourite of mine. Its ability to bring out enormous clusters of flowers is amazing. In addition to that the repeat flowering is very good. Here seen in company with the rambler Felicite et Perpetue.

Arvid`s garden Lista southwestern coast of Norway summer 2008. One of my favourite climbers. It gives a perfomance of enormous clusters of a striking deep pink colour with a touch of salmon. Almost continuous flowering throughout the season. Highly recommendable.
