I started growing roses when I was 15 when I lived in California. It did not become an obsession until I lived in Tacoma washington in the 1990's and found out that the summers were too cool for tomatoes and the springs too wet for fruit trees. So I switched to Roses and Rhododendrons. After about 10 years of growing roses in Tacoma, I moved to Utah where I practically had to learn how to grow them all over again, the climate is so different. But my roses are thriving now.
