[From Wikipedia, expanded: Groot Bentveld with almost 17 hectares land was purchased 1900 by the Haarlem physician Dr. Job Posthuma (November 14, 1865 Harlingen - September 30, 1914), who a few years later sold the manor house with 5 hectares land a few years later to his brother C. J. Posthuma. The latter established there, together with Alexander Edmond Thierry de Bye Dólleman (1877-1948), the fruit nursery "Bentveld". The nursery consisted of nine large greenhouses for growing Grapes and peaches, as well as flat glass for growing melons.
