Perpenti, 1842, p. 40:] Presently the direction of the gardens in the part concerning botany is entrusted to the distinguished Mr. Giuseppe Manetti, corresponding member of the I. R. horticultural society of Vienna, of that of London, of the I. R. Economic-agrarian Academy of the Georgofili of Florence, and honorary member of the Academy of agriculture, commerce and arts of Verona, very cultured botanist and expert in horticulture, as demonstrated by his diligent productions published in various scientific journals.
