[From Institut für Stadtgeschichte, Frankfurt a. M.:] Nursery established by Sebastian Rinz, the city gardener of Frankfurt (Germany) in 1811. His son Jacob Rinz joined his father's nursery in 1831. The nursery was sold in 1863 after the death of Jacob Rinz (April 28, 1809 - December 11, 1860), Sebastian Rinz (ca. 1782 - April 8, 1861), Jacob's brother Franz Joseph Rinz (1818 - September 1, 1861) and Jacob's son Johann Jacob Rinz (ca. 1836 - March 1, 1863).
[From Frankfurter Personenlexikon:] Sebastian Rinz passed the nursery in 1842 to his sons Jacob and Franz Joseph Rinz. Jacob Rinz became a leading breeder of camellia, azaleas, rhododendrons, dahlias and magnolias.... The S. & J. Rinz nursery was sold 1863 to Johann Georg Wunderlich, who moved it to Oberursel in 1877. The nursery existed there until about 1926....Catalogues of the nursery S. Rinz (1830) and S. & J. Rinz (1833-1865) are available at the Library of the University of Wageningen, Netherlands.
