I am trying to decide if this rose is Camelot. Any help would be appreciated!

Seil.........

I haven't grown the rose, but have worked with it in a public garden and a friend's private garden. I am uncomfortable trying to determine the identity of a rose just from the photos of the blooms, but I am going to make an exception this time just because I have a very strong hunch that your rose is not 'Camelot'.

In reviewing the photos on the 'Camelot' rose page, altho' the color may be similar, none of the photos showed the same degree of petal quilling that shows in your photos. The petals of 'Camelot' are more reflexed.

I certainly hope this makes sense.

Thanks, Lyn. It was a hopeful guess because of the color. I do have photos of the the leaves and plant too but if you feel that certain I won't bother to post them. Do you have any idea what this could possibly be? I've had it for three years now and would really like to ID it if possibly.

Seil...

As I said, identifying a rose from bloom shots, to me, is often like throwing something up against a wall to see if it sticks. Information about the foliage, the plant habit, repeat bloom, so many other characteristics tell as much or more than the bloom. It's when you put these pieces of the puzzle together that you have a much better chance of identification.

I looked for the pics but couldn't find them so I'll have to wait for next season now to get more. I'll keep search the files here in the mean time.

Thanks for your help,
