Rosen-Zeitung", 1889, p.35:] In Midsummer of the year 1888, on occasion of the Antwerp Rose Exhibition, we made a visit to the rose fields of Soupert in Luxemburg, especially as Mr. Alphons Soupert joined our trip there. At this instance the idea came up to ask our Rose painter, Miss Lina Michel from Frankfurt a. M. to come to Luxemburg, in order to paint several water colours during the main blush there. Miss Michel accepted our request and as we also stayed several days there we undertook ....

Miss Michel has painted about 120 water colours for the Rosenzeitung; she was 14 days in Trier and painted about 1 to 2 roses per day....
