Haywards Heath, United Kingdom

Borde Hill is set in 200 acres of a traditional country estate in an area of outstanding natural beauty lying between the town of Haywards Heath and the village of Cuckfield in mid Sussex. The garden and parkland were established at the turn of the century from the great plant collectors who travelled to the Himalayas, China, Burma, Tasmania and the Andes. They contain the best private collection of champion trees in Britain and one of the most comprehensive collections of trees and shrubs in the world. In 1965 Borde Hill Garden became a registered charity. The garden is open year round from 10 to 6 (or dusk if earlier). There is an admission fee. You'll find a large collection of David Austin's English Roses at Borde Hill.
