Named for the overwintering cranes in the neighborhood along the Rio Grande bosque. It is a one acre garden started in 2022.
In 2022 removed and mulched heavily planted pfitzer plantings around house; heavily pruned Arizona cypresses surrounding the perimeter. Started a large xeriscape garden along roadside. In front of house created a rose garden with the following roses:

In Fall, 2022 planted 60 peonies in rose garden: 'Sarah Bernhardt', 'Mons Jules Elle', 'Festiva Maxima', 30 orienpet, Asiatic, and Oriental lilies and 6 German iris. Along east side of driveway planted 500 bulbs including daffodils, chinodoxIas, grape hyacinths, most near two Ponderosa pines. A few bulbs, lilies, and peonies were planted in or near an east lanai flower bed.
Created a small herb garden on east side of house with:
Parsley
French tarragon
Italian oregano
Culinary sage
Basil

White datura - 4
Nepeta - 6
Perovskia - 7
Sumac trifolata - 2
Yellow iceplant - 5
Jupiter's beard - 3
Rosemary - 3 tiny transplants

Plans for 2023 include creating an ornamental grass garden along front east fence line to include:
Miscanthus
Big bluestem
Stipa gigantica
Little blue stem
Festuca glauca
Plan to add more roses, especially 'Above all', 'Nahema' and sow seed of flowering annuals such as sunflowers, cosmos, and natives.
