Narrow, terrace, urban garden primarily given to wildlife support and roses currently. Soil is much amended clay, nurtured (I think) more or less continuously for 110 years, since house terraces (row houses) were built on a countryside field. North facing, no large trees, sheltered from wind, mild winters mostly these days, summers up to around 32oC some recent years.
