With the philosophy of having a low maintenance garden in mind, I try to experiment with roses and accompanying plants in mixed borders where even what we might consider weeds are tolerated as long as they look healthy and do not invade the hole plot or over seed.
Sometimes the look is cottagy and others caotic so decisions must be made in order to keep a good looking garden.
