R. minutifolia in bed c015 at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont, CA on 12/1/11. I went to specifically check on the blooms on this plant. I thought I'd seen multiple flowers with 6 petals, but reading the HMF description which says 5 petals, I thought I must be mistaken. What I observed on this visit was not only does this plant produce flowers with 6 petals but also flowers with 7 petals! None of the other R. minutifolia (of the MANY RSABG has), that I've *so far* seen in bloom, has had anything but flowers with 5 petals. This plant also has a different growth habit, being more of an upright grower whereas many of the others tend to arch and sprawl more.
