Origin:
Bred by François Lacharme (France, 1873).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1876 as 'Captain Christy'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Light pink, pink center.  Mild, tea fragrance.  40 petals.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Dense, few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  

Height: 4' (120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
