The Hakuhō period is an unofficial name for a timespan in the history of Japan. For some, the timespan indicated lasted from 673-686 CE. In art history, the Hakuhō period comprises the late 7th and early 8th Century, usually thought to have begun with the Taika Reforms and to have lasted until the imperial court moved to Nara.
