'St. Brennus' rose Description

Gallica / Provins, Hybrid Bourbon, Hybrid China.
Bloom:
Crimson. Average diameter 2.5". Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, expanded , semi-globular bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Habit:
Well-branched.
Height: 39" to 10' (100 to 305cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be trained as a climber. suitable for a pillar.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Most sources agree on the breeder and date, but don't agree on the classification -- Gallica, Hybrid China, Hybrid Bourbon. Mike Lowe puts this rose with the Chinas and assigns it the date of 1836... Pépinières Loubert's 2002 Catalogue provides an alternative name of 'Queen Victoria'.
