Origin:
Bred by Dr. B.P. Pal (India, 1980).
Introduced in India by Indian Agricultural Research Institute IARI in 1980 as 'Jantar Mantar'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Orange-red, white streaks, stripes, flecks.  Double (17-25 petals), cupped-to-flat bloom form.

The Jantar Mantar observatory in New Delhi was built 1724 by the Maharajah Jai Singh II of Jaipur. 4 other observatories of the same name were then built in Jaipur, Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi.
