Origin:
Bred by François Fontaine (père) (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Gloire de Châtillon'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, violet shading.  Very large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  
Habit:
Bushy.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
