Bloom:
French white or blush white, ages to white . Center flower is double; side shoots produce semi-double, saucer-shaped blooms showing golden stamens. Moderate fragrance. Large, semi-double to double, cupped bloom form. Early-to-mid.
Habit:
Tall.
Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).

Notes:
Lady Alexandra Duff (1891-1959) was granddaughter of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom. Known after her marriage as Princess Arthur of Connaught.
Kelway initially called this peony 'Lady Alexandra MacDuff', but soon changed it.
Peony growers in the U.S., and perhaps elsewhere, had difficulty obtaining the true 'Lady Alexandra Duff'; Kelway's sent out a number of other peonies when orders were placed for 'LAD'. See REFERENCES.
