Origin:
Bred by William Paul and Son (after 1906) (United Kingdom, 1915).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1921 as 'Paul's Scarlet Climber'.
Class:
Climber, Hybrid Multiflora, Hybrid Wichurana.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, crimson shading, ages to cherry-red .  None to mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, semi-double to double, in large clusters, cupped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Large foliage.  

Height: 10' to 20' (305 to 610cm).  Width: 8' to 10' (245 to 305cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Hardy.  very vigorous.
