Bred by Lapente (before 1862). Introduced in France by J.-M. Gonod in 1862 as 'Deuil du Prince Albert'. Introduced in Australia by Thomas Lang in 1866 as 'Deuil du Prince Albert'.
Bloom:
Crimson, darker shading, cherry-red shading, red center. Moderate fragrance. Medium, double (17-25 petals), globular, rounded bloom form.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Hardy.
