Discovered by Edward Lee Greene (United States, 1899).

Bloom:
Pink, lilac shading.  5 petals.  Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Glandular sepals buds.  
Habit:
Short, armed with thorns / prickles, well-branched.  7 leaflets.  

Height: 1' to 2' (30 to 60cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b and warmer.  Very hardy.

Diploid

Notes:
A newly designated subspecies of Rosa woodsii native to the high mountain regions of the Southern Rocky Mountains above 7700 to about 10,000 ft. altitude. See References.
