Bred by Jacques-Julien Margottin père (1817-1892) (France, 1867).
Introduced in Australia by J. Graham & Co. in 1874 as 'Prince Humbert'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Violet to scarlet.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Sparse, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large buds.  
Habit:
Medium green, dense foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
