Bred by Samuel Davidson McGredy III (United Kingdom, before 1934).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Samuel McGredy and Son, Nurserymen (Northern Ireland) in 1938 as 'Hector Deane'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1939 as 'Hector Deane'.

Hybrid Tea.  

Salmon-orange, golden-yellow shading. Cochineal-carmine.  Strong, fruity, old rose fragrance.  Double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  

Armed with thorns / prickles, compact, upright, well-branched.  Large, dark green foliage.  

Height: 2' to 3' (60 to 90cm).  

USDA zone 6b through 10b.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to rust .  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
