Bred by Charles-Denis Souchet (France, 1842).
Introduced in France by Victor Verdier et fils in 1843 as 'Souchet'.

Class:

Bourbon.

Bloom:

Violet-red, violet undertones. Carmine-purple. Strong fragrance. Average diameter 4". Large, very double, cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles. Glossy foliage. 5 leaflets.

Height: 4'11" (150cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
