Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, 1931).
Class:
Climber, Hybrid Tea, Cl., Large-Flowered Climber.  
Bloom:
Pink.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, semi-double to double, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Dense, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: 12' to 15' (365 to 455cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Amy Johnson was a pioneer aviator who, in 1930, achieved the feat of flying solo to Australia.
The proceeds from the sale of 'Amy Johnson' were donated to the National Rose Society of Victoria.
The rose produced flowers right into winter and some references hint at R. gigantea blood in its background.
Robert Peace in Victoria, was instrumental in bringing this rose back into the nurseries.
