Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste (père) Guillot (1803-1882) (France, 1854).
Introduced in Australia by John Baptist in 1861 as 'Lord Raglan'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, purple shading.  Strong fragrance.  Very large, very full (41+ petals), cupped, globular, old-fashioned, scalloped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright, light prickles.  Dark green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
