Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 1941 as 'Freude'.
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (Newark, NY) in 1941 as 'Cheer'.
Class:
Floribunda, Hybrid Polyantha, Polyantha.  
Bloom:
Pink. [Carmine-pink.]  Mild, moderate fragrance.  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, compact.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Modern Roses 10 says this rose is extinct. Vintage Gardens disagrees and the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden grows it.
