Howard Rose Co. was established 1908.

[From the The National Nurseryman, 1909, p. 84:] Charles Howard, formerly of the Chase Rose Company, has purchased a tract of land at Hemet, Cal., where he will conduct a nursery business in the future. Mr. Howard was formerly secretary of the Chase Rose Company, of Riverside

Ernest J. Lindquist, father of Robert V. Lindquist (see) became a partner in 1913.

[From the American Rose Annual 1927, p. 22:] Down at Hemet [California], on the edge of the desert, are the vast rose-fields of the Howard Rose Company, producing yearly nearly two million roses. Its president [was in 1927] Charles W. Howard...

[From "The Rotarian", June 1964]: ...Robert V. Lindquist, of Hemet, California. He is vice-president and director of research of a 1,000-acre rose ranch which annually ships out 1 1/2 million rosebushes. Annually he develops new hybrid strains...Bob's great grandfather and grandfather were nurserymen in Finland, and his father, now 84, was a nurseryman in Sweden and England before settling in California as partner of Charles W. Howard in the large rose-growing firm, Howards of Hemet....After graduation from the University of Southern California, he joined the family firm, where he shares management duties with Charles Howard's sons, Paul and Charles Jr.

Howard Rose Company was discontinued around 1978.
