Origin:
Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, before 1950).
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 1951 as 'Gertrud Westphal'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1952 as 'Gertrud Westphal'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Orange - scarlet.  Mild, sweetbriar fragrance.  5 to 7 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, single (4-8 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy, well-branched.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: 1' (30cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
