Origin:
Bred by Ernest Markham (United Kingdom, circa 1925).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Guernsey Clematis Nursery in circa 1980 as 'Blue Belle'.
Class:
Group 3, Late, Small-flowered, Viticella Group.  
Bloom:
Blue, yellow anthers.  6 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Single bloom form.  Midsummer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: 10' to 13' (305 to 395cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 3b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  This plant blooms on the current season's growth.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
